Malala started writing anonymously about her life, hopes and fears when she was 11 years old in a BBC online diary. In this way, she claimed the right of girls to education, denouncing the Taliban for forbidding girls from going to school. Because of her perceptions in 2012, and while she was inside the school bus, she was seriously injured by a bullet to the head.
