Oli and Virgil are best friends or at least they were before Virgil fell for Oli's sister. Who will win when they fight each other for it ALL over Stephanie.

Scene 1 *Virgil calls Oli on the God Hotline* Virgil: Oli, I need you to come over, we need to talk. Oli: I agree, we do need to talk.

Scene 2 *Oli arrives at Virgil's home in the Underworld* Virgil: Welcome to my new found home my friend. Oli: It's good to see you again. Virgil: We need to talk about the situation at hand. Virgil: I am going to be marrying your sister. Oli: WHAT... ABSOLUTELY NOT I thought we said we would speak of this in a later time. Virgil: Yes, but it's already set in stone. I had to bring this up. Oli: Not if I have something to do about it. Virgil: Most importantly how did I get sent to this place. (Flashback)

Scene 3 *Oli and Virgil are talking about normal God things* Oli: Did you hear Zeus cheated on Leto? Virgil: Really?! I thought he really liked this one! Virgil: Anyways we need to talk about something. Oli: What? Virgil: I will be marrying your sister. Oli: WHAT WHY? Virgil: I'm in love. Oli: HOW DID THIS EVEN START? Virgil: Well, as you know I've known her the majority of my life after all we have been friends for many, many years. I've just recently begun to actually get to know her. Oli: We will NOT speak of this day till I'M ready. Virgil: Ok. *But then Virgil is suddenly sent down to the Underworld* (Flashback Ends)

*Oli rushes over to his sister to talk to her* *After Oli arrives to his sister he hurries in to talk to his sister Stephanie: Oli what are you doing hear Oli: We need to talk. Stephanie: About what? Oli: Virgil. Stephanie: *sighs* I knew this would happen but not this soon. Oli: Why? Stephanie: I love him! Oli: I have bad news.... Stephanie: What? Oli: Virgil has been sent to the Underworld. Stephanie: WHAT how?! Oli: I don't know we were talking about you guys then suddenly he was hust gone! Stephanie: YOU DID THIS! Oli: No matter how much I disagree with you and him, I would never Oli: Virgil is my best friend but he is a terrible influence. Stephanie: You can't do that we grew up with him and he was your best friend then when I want him you say he is a bad influence!? Oli: But, Virgil is known to be to over protective over females. Oli: Also he has changed he is not the same person, he recently has changed.

Scene 4 (Continued) Stephanie: Oli...*sighs* Thank you. I could also see small changes but not how immense it all was. Oli: That's what brothers are for.

Scene 5 *Virgil found out that Oli convinced his sister to move on from him. This made Virgil Furious. He continued to cause havoc on the town.* Virgil: I WILL DESTROY YOU ALL! *Oli came to help the towns people.* Oli: VIRGIL STOP THIS THESE INNOCENT TOWNS PEOPLE DID NOT DO THIS TO YOU I DID! *Virgil Turns his head with a furious look of blood hungry death on his face*

Scene 6 *Virgil uses his power of manipulation to take control of the towns people to fight Oli* Oli: Your that weak and petty you have to use innocent towns people to fight me? Virgil: YOU WILL REGRET THAT! *Virgil runs off leaving Oli to fight the manipulated towns people*

Scene 7 *Oli finishes fighting the towns people and sets off on a quest to find Virgil. He has a hunch as to where he fled* Oli: *mumbles* He has Stephanie *Oli finds Virgil and his sister* Virgil: I have been expecting you... *Oli notices that Stephanie is tied up on a chair in the corner* Oli: What have you done to her?! Virgil: Nothing, I'm protecting her from you. Oli: How dare you, look what you have put her through. Virgil: I'm doing what I have to do because I love her. Stephanie: VIRGIL! STOP THIS... I don't love you... Virgil WHAAAAAAAAAAAAATTTT?!? We were getting married what happened? *This sends Virgil into a rage, attacking Oli* *Oli and Virgil start exchanging punches and pushes then Virgil is knocked down and dizzy. Oli then uses this time to finish off the attack *Whistles* dozens and dozens of sharpies fly at Virgil knocking him down and finishing him off.

Scene 8 *Oli unties Stephanie who is weak and half starved. Oli rushes her home and then comes back to turn Virgil in to the God Police but he is GONE. THE END!

Stella was walking to Carolyn's house when she saw smoke in the sky. It was the Spencers house! Their house was on fire! She sprinted to their house, other naighbors were already racing out of their homes with buckets to go help. Randy went to Mrs. Malone and told her to call the fire house.  When she called they said they were too busy and just laughed at her.  The whole naiborhood helped even a few white people helped.  There were two lines of people that streched all the way out to the river.  They took buckets and filled them up in the river.  Then they passed the buckets through the line and dumped them on the house.

Back in the classroom, while the children had to write books for the Carolina Times, Hazel, one of the Spencers had asked Stella how to draw a hidey-hole. Hazel had asked this question because this was her favorite quite place to go and escape everybody. Soon, after the Sepencers house began to be burnt down by the KKK, Hazel decided to run into the forest and slip into her "Hidey-hole". Everybody was frantic to find Hazel. At the time Stella had rembered what Hazel had told her earlier in class that day so she ran past the fire and into the forest to find Hazel. When Stella had found Hazel everyone was overjoyed and so proud of Stella. Stella's father let the Spencers stay in their grandmothers house and everyone in the community gave a little gift to the Spencers. The next day Stella had church, at Church Pastor Patton thanked Stella for saving Hazel and they song and danced to show the children how much they meant to their parents.

     Stella went out for a late night walk. Then she suddenly she heard a scream she followed the voice. As Stella walked toward the scream she tripped on a pair of shoes. Then, Stella reached the pond and saw a person drowning. Stella took off her jacket and jumped in. She grabbed the person and swam to her. then Stella swam her to shore. As Stella pulled herself to shore next to the girl she realized it was Paulette (the daughter of the white doctor that refused to give her the antivenom who also had the piercing green eyes). Then Stella started to agrilly tell Paulette that her dad was in the Ku Klux Klan (KKK). After Stella finished talking Paulette said that she knew that he was in the KKK because she watched her mother iron it every week.

Before they could vote, Stella's dad , Mr. Spencer, and Pastor Patton registered to vote at the Board of Elections. The registrar was reluctant to let them register to vote. He made them take a test and pay a fee. While they were taking the test, two white men came in. The registrar didn't make them take a test, or pay a fee. All they had to do was sign their name. Because they didn't pay anything, Stella's dad, Pastor Patton, and Mr. Spencer had to pay 2 whole dollars, covering their fees, as well as the white men's. On voting day, Stella's dad, Mr. Spencer, and Pastor Patton went to vote since they had registered. As they walked there, people from all over town, both black and white, joined their procession. The sheriff stopped them for a few minutes, then let them inside the polling place. It took them 20 minutes to vote.

Mama Got Bitten by a Snake! By Emily

Towards the end of the book, on pages 247-292, Mama gets bitten by a snake, and Stella finds her in the woods. Stella thinks fast while JoJo gets Papa, and gets a blanket to wrap her wound after she pours cold water on it. When Papa came he told Stella to get Dr. Packard, the white doctor, since the black doctor was out of town. When Stella went to get the white doctor, he wouldn't accept her in because he was only treating white patients, even though Mama could have died from that snake bite. Luckily, someone went and got the black doctor, and Mama was saved!

When Stella was in fifth grade she recognized those green eyes from under a white hood and realized that he was a member of the Ku Klux Klan maybe even the head member.

Books Showing What Middle Schoolers Love to Read

In disarray the Athenians rushed out of bed and grabbed a hold of their weapons, running out of their tents, still tired and confused. Disorientated, many of Athens' finest warriors met their doom in the following battle. In contrast, Epimetheus was easily slaying several Spartans, and soon found himself battling a dirty-blonde, grisly-haired Spartan dressed in full bronze battle armor. He recognized the suit of armor as belonging to the third best fighter in the entire army of Sparta. The fighter raised his shield and Epimetheus hurled his spear towards it. The spear instantly pierced the shield and armor, giving the third best soldier a quick but painless death. A few people on the battlefield froze, as one of their best soldiers had died in an instant. The silence was only broke by a very tall man clad in armor made of solid gold, screaming, "You killed my brother!" He recognized this as the second best Spartan. He'd heard legends of the "Warrior in Gold".

In the later climax, when it was Jerry's birthday, he and Rachel went down to the train station to watch the Banker's express. The train rarely stopped in Cranbury, so they were very surprised to see it slow down and screech to a stop right in front of their very eyes. They watched it very carefully as it was different that it was actually there. While staring they noticed that Wally Bullwinkle was on the train. They looked at him and realized that he was wearing the yellow hat. Just then the train jolted forward and with the wind came Wally's Yellow hat. As it fell they realized that his hat, that very hat was the one that belonged to the theif. At that moment everything became clear.

It was 4 hours later and Katherine rose from the dead as a vampire.

     It was the 1400's and Katherine and Caroline were the best of friends. One day they were getting ready for a dinner and they decided to walk around outside. On their way back home Katherine smelled smoke and Caroline started to sweat. "Fire!" The Pierce house (Katherine's house) was on fire. Caroline tried to grab Katherine but Katherine tripped and fell into the fire.

When Trurgood Marshall was little, he knew that being segregated was wrong and his dad told him to never stop fighting. One day when he was a teenager delivering the news paper, he got on a trolley, and before he could sit, it lurched forward and he fell back on a white man, a they started a fist fight. He was then accused of assault, from that day on he vowed to never stop fighting for equal rights for blacks. About 7 years later he was a lawyer and the Port Chicago 50 trial caught his eye and he started to fight. After, the 50 were sentenced to 15 years of hard labor and prison he kept fighting two years later he got the 50 "mutineers" out of prison.

Epimetheus killed the Warrior in Gold in a similar fashion to the first soldier. Throwing his spear through the shield and killing him. Those two encounters alone were very much changing the tide of the fight. However, the looming threat of the strongest fighter in all of Sparta, Vuelos, was still very imminent. As Epimetheus was pondering this, Diomedes' recognizable scream echoed across the land. Epimetheus, though already very fatigued, ran across the battle field as fast as he could. When he arrived he noticed a man dressed in full silver. He new that this had to be Vuelos. He hurled his spear at Vuelos, who raised his shield. However, the spear didn't pierce the shield. "This shield is blessed by Ares, the glorious god of war, you fool! Nothing can penetrate this shield!" Vuelos boomed. A figure who Epimetheus recognized as Diomedes was hiding behind a nearby tree. Epimetheus tried throwing his spear again. It once more bounced off. Epimetheus remembered what his mother had once told him: "Don't always rely on one trick." Epimetheus charged and was slammed to the ground. He tried reaching his spear around the Vuelos' shield, but it was no use and Epimetheus was prepared to die.

Joe Small was a hard working and honest soldier. While he was at Port Chicago one of the ammunition loaders accidentally dropped an incendiary bomb and it blew the port apart, and destroyed the barracks' windows. After the disaster, everybody started blaming black people for the disaster, because white officers tried to not be blamed and then blamed the blacks. A few days after the explosion, Division Four refused to load ammunition into the boats because they became scared. The white officers figured out that Joe Small was the leader of this rebellion. He was sent to court and accused of mutiny. Joe Small was sentenced 15 years to federal prison. After two years of hard labor Thurgood Marshall got him out of prison legally. After that, he gets a job on sea, and is finally an actual sailor. He remains a mutineer to this day.

We all agreed that it would be best if we gave a description to each member of the gang. We divided up roles and got started. We added images from the movie and it gave the book a little spice!

We learned more about the characters, because we got more in depth bout them.

We used this font and background, because we wanted to make it look like a type writer.

Officer Delucchi is an officer in charge of Joe Small's division. He assigned Joe Small to call candence. He had a very short temper. He claimed that when the division was talking about how scared they were about the explosion they were talking mutinously.

     Elena decided that she wanted to go to the church and pray, and Caroline decided to go home. At the church, Elena met Aubrey the Goddess. Aubrey the Goddess told Elena that she would help her defeat The almighty Katherine. Once Elena heard this news, she told Caroline as fast as possible. They decided to go back to the church and meet up with Aubrey the Goddess with a plan, the plan was to use Aubrey the Goddesses powers to lock Katherine in a tomb.

     She then excused herself to go use the restroom. At that moment, Katherine showed up as the "manager." She asked Elena if she wanted to try their new latte. What Elena didn't know was that the latte was really Katherine's blood. If Elena died she would become a vampire. That is exactly what Katherine intended to do that day. A couple of seconds after Elena tried the new "latte" Katherine pushed her to the ground. Elena was dead, Katherine told her "Stay away from my best friend or else."

At the point in the book where the falling action occurs, Jerry and Rachel see Wally, the thief that stole Ginger, on the Banker's express, leaving Cranbury. They knew by then that Wally had stolen Ginger, and we desperate to get him back before he was lost forever. While Wally blew past them on the train, his yellow hat flew off. Jerry got the idea to check inside the hat, just to be sure that Wally for sure took Ginger. Lone behold, Jerry and Rachel saw a red mark inside of his hat, proving that he was the one following Ginger. They needed to get Ginger back! They ran after the train, but couldn't catch up. Jerry and Rachel soon accepted that they would never get their beloved dog back. Heads down, they headed back home. When they arrived, a full-grown dog was in their yard. The two kids had no idea who the dog was until it started jumping all over them! It was Ginger! Jerry later figured out why he was so big, for he had grown because he was away so long! Uncle Benny had found Ginger, and convinced his mother that they had to take him. In the end, Ginger was found, and with the Pyes, where he belonged.

Tepid: a feeling or reaction that is tepid shows a lack&#160;of excitement&#160;or interest.

Blackwhite: Blackwhite is a Newspeak word that means an oxymoron.

Doubleplusgood: A Newspeak word that means very very good

Gelatinous: in a state between solid&#160;and liquid, like a gel

lymph: a clear&#160;liquid&#160;that is formed in your body and passes into your&#160;blood&#160;system to fight against&#160;infection

Johny is 16. He has a strong relationship with Ponyboy. His Dad abused him and his mother pays no attention to him. He murdered Bob in the beginning of the story.

Dally is the criminal of the bunch. He has committed many crimes and has been to jail more than once. He helps Johnny and Ponyboy when Johnny kills Bob. 

He ran away with Ponyboy after he murdered Bob. While they were gone, the place where they stayed had caught on fire. There were children inside the church and he risked his life to save them. Later he died in the hospital.

In the end, Dally dies after Johnny was pronounced dead. He was shot in the courtyard.

     It was the 2000's and Caroline had met Elena. She looked almost exactly the same as Katherine. Caroline had totally forgotten about Katherine and Elena was Caroline's new best friend. Caroline and Elena decided to go to a new place in town, it was called the Mystic Cafe. They sat down and ordered their coffee's and Caroline admitted to being a vampire.

In the early climax, the family was eating dinner. Ginger Pye was outside running around in the backyard. While the family was conversing, Uncle Bennie started yelling "I see hot! I see hot!", hot was his way of saying hat. After this, they just ignored him, but, because he kept yelling Jerry thought that it might be the yellow hat of the unsavory character.  So, he jumped up and looked through the window to find "a queer sort of yellow hat", the same color that the person he had seen running in the fields at Mrs. Speedy's barn had! If he hurried he might see who the unsavory character was. Knowing this, Jerry tore out of the house as fast as he could hoping to get a glimpse of his face.  By the time Jerry could get on top of the fence he saw nobody, not even a trace. He moped back home with his head held low.  A few weeks later, the Pyes were eating Thanksgiving dinner while Ginger was out in the backyard. During the festivities Ginger disappeared. He was stolen. The siblings looked everywhere they could possibly imagine he could be. Their efforts resulted in no luck.

Aubrey the goddess spotted Katherine walking alone. Aubrey used her special powers to capture Katherine. Aubrey the goddess threw Katherine into the tomb and she slowly starved to death.

     Caroline decided to bring Elena to the park to calm her down. Caroline and Elena were playing at the park with a balloon when unexpectedly, Katherine came in and popped their balloon. On their way home from the park, Katherine came in and pulled Elena's arm, she fell to the ground. Caroline didn't notice that Elena fell, that gave Katherine a chance to start walking with Caroline.

Two-bit is the oldest of the group. He is happy to be a greaser. He always cracks a joke. He has a special switchblade that he got. He only uses his blade to show it off to impress people. He always acts drunk at least Ponyboy thinks that. When Two-Bit visits Dally in the hospital he gave his switchblade to him. Dally used it to scare off the nurse so he could help fight in the rumble.

Darry is a greaser. He is Ponyboy and Sodapop's older brother. He took care of them because their parents died in a car crash. He is described in the book to be strong, athletic, and very serious. His relationship with Ponyboy grew throughout the book. At first Darry was very mean to Ponyboy but he later knew how it felt when he lost him so he knew to treat him better.

Caroline was trying to support Elena as much as possible in her vampire transformation. In order for Elena to become a vampire she has to drink blood, if she doesn't drink the blood, she dies. Caroline is going to make sure that Elena drinks blood, even if it means that she dies. Elena turns into a vampire because she drank Katherine's blood thinking it was coffee instead. Caroline still didn't know what was going on when they got back to her house. That is when Caroline realized that Elena had Katherine's blood in her system.

Any time he would flee an encounter against a Spartan soldier, he would say that it was because he needed to stay alive or else no one would. While some would call this true, he had once caused the death of an extremely gifted fighter, who just needed an arrow to be shot at a man he had been wrestling, as they had both broke their swords. Instead, Diomedes ran away and the fighter had gotten stabbed by another Spartan. Either way, the Athenians were losing the fight and Epimetheus was not super enthusiastic about it. "Come on guys, we need to step it up!" He said to the people who were also staying in his tent. A soldier named Neopodolemustareo shot back, rage visible on his face, "Well not all of us have a magical spear, or even a pronounceable name!" The three other people in the tent grunted in agreement. "You don't need a magical spear to win a war!" Epimetheus replied, taking Neopodolemustareo's insult a tad too personal. "You need skill! Maybe you just don't have that. The tent was silent from then on, only disrupted by light snoring that was audible about half an hour later. As soon as the sun rose, the snoring stopped, replaced by the Spartans' shouts across the battlefield.

     In the beginning, Mahmoud is one of the few not bothered that much. But than their home was bombed because of a group of terrorists, also known as Isis. One of Mahmoud's best friend got killed by a bombing because of the Isis group. They fled and paid for a boat. It didn't come until weeks. When it came it was a very very small raft and there must have been 30 people on it. They crashed and Mahmoud and his family let another family take his baby sister so she would live. They get rescued and eventually get a home with a family who takes them under their wing.

Character Traits-Brady S, Brady T, and Jack

     Josef is a Jewish boy in 1930's Nazi Germany. With the threat of concentration camp looming, he and his family board a ship bound for the other side of the world. His dad ends up doing a suicide attempt to end up failing and going to a Cuban hospital. They got rejected by the Cuban president, so they went to the states. They got rejected by President Roosevelt, and ended up going to France. Joseph ended up dying in a concentration camp due to Nazi soldiers.

He has two brothers, Darry and Sodapop. His parents died in a car accident.

Ponyboy is 14 years old and he is very smart. He goes through this long journey with johnny and that really changes him.

Relationships: Sodapop is a middle child (Ponyboy and Darry's brother). His best friend is Steve, but he is close buddies with all of the members in his gang. He works at a gas station with Steve, where Steve repairs cars.

Personality: Sodapop is described in the story as being flippant, humorous, and comical. He is not always making directed jokes, like Two-Bit, but he usually does not take severe situations as seriously as some of the other members in his close friend group (gang). Description: In the book, he is described as being "movie star handsome" and "always grinning". In the book he has golden brown hair, like Ponyboy, and dark brown eyes.

     A couple of minutes later Caroline came out of the bathroom and saw Elena. She ran over to her as fast as she could shaking her as hard as she could to make her wake up. After a couple of minutes Elena woke up and asked what happened. Caroline said "What? You don't know! I just walked out of the bathroom to see you lying on the ground." Suddenly, Katherine came out of nowhere and said "I happened." Caroline had mixed emotions, she was happy because Katherine was alive, she was sad because Elena is going to have a terrible life know that she is a vampire, and she was mad because Katherine was the one who turned Elena into a vampire.

Winston is a Comrade for the Party, and hates Big Brother secretly. He knows O'Brien thinks the same. There is a dark haired girl that seems to be following him. Winston went to a shop where he bought the paperweight. Mr. Charrington shows him a room upstairs and lets him stay. He assures him that there is no telescreen. When he leaves he spots the same dark haired girl. She somehow gets a note to him that says "I love you". After that they get extremely close and Winston learns that her name is Julia. They met on various occasions, but they most often met in The room upstairs of the shop Mr. Charrigton owned. They both wanted to join O'Brien's league, the Brotherhood. They had a talk with O'Brien, and he let them join. Winston was reading the book given to him by O'Brien and then he went to bed with Julia. Then, when Julia and Winston woke up they heard something. In Mr. Charrington's room, there was a telescreen behind the painting! They were kidnapped and brought to a room where Winston was alone without Julia and was starved. He was constantly beaten and finally O'Brien brought him out to a room where there was a chair. He was strapped up and brainwashed to believe false things. Then, he was brought to room 101. He faced his worst fears, rats. O'Brien was a traitor. His life was forever changed from then including now he loved the smug face on the wall. He loved Big Brother.

In the beginning, Jerry had gone to see puppies up for sale at Mrs. Speedy's barn. He had fallen in love with one of the puppies. The only problem was that the puppy cost $1 - so much that Jerry couldn't bear to ask his parents for the money. He decided to make it himself. Though he had no idea how. During the Rising Action, Jerry found out that if he did not have the money for the dog by 6:00 the puppy would be sold. Jerry was frantic as he desperately looked for ways to find the dollar. He knew that he could not ask his parents since the were not very well of people. It just so happened that Sam Doody had a job at the church that needed to be done. He came to the Pye's house and asked for the to dust the pews at church for a dollar, just enough for the puppy. He went to the barn to pick up the puppy. They had made it just in time. As they were walking home the heard footsteps, they decided the footsteps belonged to an unsavory character. . . A few months later they forgot about the unsavory character, and decided to name the puppy Ginger. But then, they started to uncover the distant figure again. During that period of time Rachel, Jerry, and their friend went to the lake to swim. While they were there they found that a person had left their yellow hat. The same yellow hat that belonged to the unsavory character.  So, they decide to mark the hat in case they find it again.

Though, his "self-preservation" was also a way of masking his cowardice.33

As for Epimetheus, he went on to live the rest of his life peacefully and was recognized as a hero from then on.

The climax in this book is when Winston is in the Ministry of Love and being brainwashed to love Big Brother and Tortured to betray Julia and to change his thoughts so he doesn't betray the Party again. 

In conclusion, the Port Chicago Disaster may have been forgotten a long time ago, many people still know this disaster took place. The 50 sailors who refused to load ammunition the whole time and were marched on the barge, are all dead, and all are still considered "mutineers".
