Negative numbers
Negative numbers get a bit strange because when you add a negative number to a negative number you are pretty much subtracting.

-39 -(40) = -79
Adding negative numbers is a bit easier.

36+(-85)= -49
334+569=800+90+13=903
Partitioning
2256+4391=6000+500+140+7=6647
Partitioning is when you take apart the number and then add it up again.
