Message from our Coordinator

pava parents,
our students and teachers are inspiring. when i see A student's assignment this year, I think of all the work that has gone into making that one snapshot of learning possible. the level of planning the teacher has gone through as well as the amount of focus and commitment the student demonstrated by completing the work on their own at home.  this year has been a challenge for everyone, but Pava's effort to continue to bring meaningful, rigorous learning during distance learning has stayed strong. nevertheless, We look forward to the time when we can see all of our students in person and get to know them in the school setting. please enjoy this look at your child's learning.  I look forward to meeting, talking, and laughing with all of you when we return to in-person learning.

This year in English class, I learned how to annotate, how to plan and layout my essays, how to dissect poems, etc.

My favorite assignment...
I chose the Immigrant Interview project because it allowed me to learn more about my family. Before this project, I did not know about my grandfather's immigration story, however, thanks to this project, now I do.

My favorite assignment
I chose this assignment because I feel this is the section I understood the most this year.
This year in Math, I learned about rounding decimals, order of operations, and absolute value. I also learned about integers. We learned about adding integers, multiplying and diving integers, etc. We also learned about fractions and mixed numbers. The fractions portion of the year helped me to better my understanding of fractions.

My favorite assignment...
I chose this assignment because I enjoyed learning about the element that I chose for this project. It was very interesting to learn about all the different aspects of an element.

with Ms.Rivera
This year I learned about ancient civilizations. I learned about the Mongols of China, native Americans, and Africa. Learning about history helped me to understand other cultures, and taught me to learns from the mistakes of the past.
