We slowly piece together Holden's unique view of the world as he progresses forward, until he finally returns to his family's apartment.

However, it can also inspire one to appreciate the bonds they have with their friends and family. The novel depicts a profound and well-written character that has stood the test of time and can strike a chord with almost anybody.
