Why is it important to learn a foreign language?
To answer this question, we've done a scientific research project, based on the evidence that LANGUAGES FEED OUR BRAIN!
The many cognitive benefits of learning languages are undeniable. People who speak more than one language have improved memory, problem-solving and critical-thinking skills, concentration, ability to multitask, and better listening skills. They switch between competing tasks and monitor changes in their environment more easily than monolinguals, as well as display signs of greater creativity and flexibility. If that werenβt enough, as we age, being bilingual or multilingual also helps to stave off mental aging and cognitive decline.

Learning a foreign language can increase the size of your brain.
DID YOU KNOW THAT...learning a foreign language can increase the size of your brain?
This is what Swedish scientists discovered when they used brain scans to monitor what happens when someone learns a second language. The study is part of a growing body of research using brain imaging technologies to better understand the cognitive benefits of language learning. Tools like magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) and electrophysiology, among others, can now tell us not only whether we need knee surgery or have irregularities with our heartbeat, but reveal what is happening in our brains when we hear, understand and produce second languages.

WHERE DOES HALLOWEEN COME FROM?
What does the word Halloween mean? The answer can be found in History! Like many modern holidays, historians believe it came from ancient pagan practices...
Celtic Festival Samhain
Halloween is just not an American tradition! Carving faces to pumpkins dates to the Celts as a part of their autumnal celebration! In Celtic Ireland over 2,000 years ago, 31st of October, the feast of Samhain represented the division of the year into the darker half (winter) and the lighter half (summer) and was seen as the beginning of the new year, equivalent to New Yearβs Eve. At Samhain, the boundary between this world and the other world, was at its thinnest and thus spirits and demons could easily pass between the two.
