NEW ILLINOIS SECTION OFFICERS

President - Andrew Walton, P.E.

Andrew Walton is the Vice President of Transportation at Orion Engineers, PLLC. With over 17 years of experience in the planning, study, and design of transportation projects for various private, local, and state agencies, he has a specialty focus on roadway geometric design, traffic-control, complex maintenance of traffic concepts, and design/construction contract packaging for major interstate highway improvements. Mr. Walton is knowledgeable of traffic control requirements for local, arterial, and expressway type facilities and his background includes management of budget, scope, schedule, staff, and quality control for multiple projects. He is responsible for the business development activity, sales/growth, and technical competency of Orion’s transportation department.

Mr. Walton received his Bachelor of Science in Civil & Environmental Engineering at the University of Dayton, is a registered Professional Engineer in the State of Illinois, and an NCEES Record Number holder. He has been involved with ASCE for over 16 years, serving on the Illinois Section Board and the Illinois Section’s Transportation & Development Institute (IS-ASCE T&DI) in various roles leading up to President. He is currently assisting with the development of the 2022 ASCE Report Card for Illinois’ Infrastructure and is an active participant in the Illinois Section’s operations, events, and activities as the 2021-2022 President. He resides in the Lakeview East neighborhood in the City of Chicago and is the proud father of 11-year-old son Jack.
