Introduction
Project aims to innovatively develop and implement education programs for sustainable development through the development of competences and active participation of students in the field of sustainable development while strengthening the partnership between schools and local communities in raising awareness of sustainable development.
The activities will encourage students to act and initiate actions aimed at achieving SDGs and sustainable society in its entirety.
A series of educational, practical and creative activities and methods of innovative and experiential learning will raise the level of knowledge, awareness and skills for the adoption of green lifestyle in accordance with sustainable development.
Informing the public and media about the importance of the topic as well as project implementation, will promote project activities, the importance of sustainable development, environmental and nature care and environmental action, all with the aim of developing a sustainable community.

GOAL 1: No Poverty

It is good to do good - a donation to the House of EMAUS

Advent in Zagreb is showing its splendor this year as well, and it is especially good to do good during the holiday season. Encouraged by this thought, students and teachers of the Industrial School of Mechanical Engineering (ISŠ) responded to the call of the House for the Accommodation of Children without Appropriate Parental Care - the EMAUS House for the donation of tools and accessories. Employees of the House of EMAUS have established a children's section "Creative Corner" to train children to do household repairs. Students and teachers of practical classes at ISŠ donated hammers and saws that students make in workshop exercises, and they also made sure to donate other tools, devices and accessories that will be safely used by EMAUS residents. The organizers of this commendable action for the House of EMAUS were members of the Council of the City District of Gornja Dubrava with the coordination of mr. sc Andreje Marcetić. Colleagues from practical classes Iva Bojčić and Josip Filić, who handed over the collected donation to the employees of the EMAUS House, also helped the teachers of practical classes to carry out the action.

GOAL 2: Zero Hunger

Plant a tree, don't be a stump!

Association for Nature and Environmental Protection "Plant a tree, don't be a stump!" is organizing tree planting campaigns at a local, regional and national level in the Republic of Croatia. After successfully participating in the national campaign "The Week of planting trees collectively in Croatia in 2021 ”, students and teachers of the Industrial Mechanical Engineering schools, Zagreb joined in the campaign "3… 2… 1 WE ARE PLANTING” in early November 2021.
They planted more seedlings of apples, pears, cherries and sour cherries in the school yard. Aware of the need to act in the race against the climate crisis, students and teachers of Industrial Schools of Mechanical Engineering (ISŠ) gladly respond to the call to act in the race with climate crisis and thus raise environmental awareness and confirm social and environmental responsibility to help implement strategies of mitigation of consequences of climate change according to EU standards. The goal of participating in the campaign is to give the possibility for students to be the result of adaptation, change, resilience and performance in relation to environmental challenges. The aim is also to support revitalization of urban green spaces in the city to reduce impacts of heat waves by preserving them. Association for Nature and Environmental Protection "Plant a tree, don't be a stump!" recognized the importance and power of the digital transition and exploited the potential of the internet and marketing and has formed a communication and educational platform.

In a globalized world that is changing fast, standing still is the fastest way to move backwards. Therefore, the recognition of needs and trends is exceptionally important, as is the recognition of our own strengths and weaknesses in order to turn challenges into development opportunities, but also to strengthen the resilience of society and achieve its greater willingness to deal with the unforeseen circumstances of existing and upcoming climate change.

By planting fruit seedlings in the yard of the ISŠ, the students gave their contribution to reduction of consequences of climate change hoping that fruit trees that are planted in the campaign "3… 2… 1 PLANT" become as green as those from the campaign "The Week of planting trees collectively in Croatia in 2021 ”. Planted trees were recorded on the GIS portal of the UZSNP tree planting campaign https://panj.crogis.hr/.
