Welcome
We would like to extend a very warm welcome back to term two to all of our partners. This is our first full bulletin of the year, the delayed publication is in response to your feedback with regards to the timings of our communications, and what is most helpful for you in terms of your work in school. Further bulletins will be published at the start of term 4 and term 6.
We are delighted to announce that Thames Gateway are now a part of The Leigh Institute, a new organisation that brings together Kent and Medway Training, Kent and Medway Maths Hub, The LAT Apprenticeship Team and ourselves. This is to provide schools with a ‘one stop shop’ that can take staff through initial teacher training all the way to Executive Leadership, with multiple opportunities for additional professional development on the way. So you can expect the same high quality service from all four organisations, but the umbrella of The Leigh Institute ensures we can support seamless transition between all of our services and offers.
We are delighted that we start the year with over 900 ECTs beginning their career with our support, and with over 290 teachers and leaders taking the first steps on their NPQ journeys. You will find key dates and actions required in this bulletin, but it’s worth drawing attention to the fact that the February cohorts of the NPQs is the last under the current DFE funding arrangement, so potentially the last time staff can access the courses without fees.
Our professional development offer starts this module, please take some time to look at the offer, with more details available on page 12. The courses are offered in conjunction with Greenshaw Research School, the EEF and our partners at LLSE, and all are rooted in research and offered as a response to schools across the region and identified areas of need.
We look forward to working with you, and for you, this academic year. If you have any questions or feedback we would love to hear from you via this google form.
Best Wishes
Faye

Celebration
All pass rates for our NPQ courses are over 97% (above National and LLSE averages).
“The facilitators have created an environment in which to discuss, engage and reflect on practice with others. The conversations with other teachers has been invaluable in understanding different environments, strategies and leadership.” NPQSL Delegate
“The quality of facilitation is excellent and the ongoing support from the team is great. The nature of the platform makes learning flexible and manageable. The materials have been well chosen and the case studies are thought provoking and instigate reflection.” NPQEL Delegate
We are delighted that 99% of eligible ECTs passed their ECT Induction in the summer of 2023. This is an amazing achievement and this is a tribute to all of the hard work that goes on in schools! Thank you!
