Step 3 - Use the App to create your video.

Step 2 - Plan your story - you can have a 3 or 5 part story with different settings &amp; characters. Script what you want to say - keep it short as you only get 30 sec for each part.

Challenge: Create a simple short bi-lingual story showing how amazing Don Quixote is when he meets a dragon!

Language: Use a repeated structure to help you eg. Don Quixote puede + verb. See an example here based on <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YzF4UnI4zto&amp;list=PLXMCXZunVHHeuh9FKZzg-RuIKzW9Ar9C0&amp;index=5">How to train a dragon</a>.

Step 1 - Have a look at this video - go to approx 11 mins to see the section about making a video.

Step 3 - Create an account/sign in with google in <a href="https://spark.adobe.com/">AdobeSpark</a> for free. Choose video. Follow the instructions/template to help you. For each slide add text and/or photos (free ones are available from Pixabay)/video. You can change the format of each slide. You can record sound for each slide too.

Step 2 - Plan your video first. You can create it from still images &amp; text (like a powerpoint or slide show) or upload video. You could add in text to explain what is happening/the story. Think about what language to use &amp; draft it.

Step 3 - Use the App to create your collage. You can take photos using the App or upload ones you have already taken. If your pictures have no words, try adding words using the App. Add stickers, change the layout and add a title.

Step 2 - Gather the items you want to photograph/take photos of the performance. Think about any key words you might want to add in English and/or another language.

Linking learners within &amp; across schools

A <a href="https://en-gb.padlet.com/">padlet</a> is a great way to share work and you can upload work to it in different formats (ie. text, photo, audio) with parents and especially with people outside your school community. Sign up &amp; get 3 free padlets.

Why not try linking up with another school? Each school could create their own padlet &amp; post pupil work to share. Remember to only include pupil first names, if at all, and ideally no photos or videos of pupils. Ensure you have the necessary parental permissions to share any pupil work and photos/videos.

Let's retell the story: Use the <a href="https://www.readingrockets.org/pdfs/storymap_simple.pdf">First - Next - Then - Last </a>structure to explain the story in your own words.

Let's join in: Revise key language. Ask learners to say the colours they see before hearing the phrases &amp; joining in.

Time to get creative: Draw, paint or make the sea creatures &amp; act out the story. Try using <a href="https://masandpas.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/03/ocean-main.jpg">paper plates!</a> Change the order/colours of the creatures to make your own version.

Share your work: Perform the story or your version to another class/parents or video it &amp; share on the school blog.

Let's join in! Say hello/goodbye in another language to each animal.

Let's create! Make a <a href="https://youtu.be/05ASy_yQLm0">story sack</a> to retell the story with toys &amp; a cardboard box. Encourage learners to join in &amp; act it out. Why not change the animals too &amp; make your own version.

1) Decide how you are going to share your work &amp; whether it will be spoken or written &amp; in what language. If there are photos of learners, please ensure you have the necessary permissions to share online in your school community &amp; beyond. Think about who you are going to share the pupil work with (eg. parents, pupils, other staff in your school or even another school) &amp; how (eg. school blog, google classroom/drive or maybe a padlet).

Time to join in: Divide the class into groups &amp; each one is a different animal. They do a mime when they are mentioned in the story.

Let's create: Make a class <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JAhq6mz2Yis">big book</a> showing the animals from Farmer Duck. Draw/paint the animals &amp; label them or write short phrases.

Aim: To celebrate stories from different countries &amp; in other languages &amp; use these to develop language skills creatively.
